Easy Pizza Lasagna Skewers

While the toppings may remind you of pizza, the crust of the pizza pasta sticks are different.

Unlike a puffy pizza crust, the lasagna sheet becomes surprisingly crispy, almost like chips, but with a chewy, soft texture. This is due to the lasagna sheets losing moisture when baked in the oven.

Leftovers, when reheated, lose most of their moisture and can become as crispy as a cracker, this makes a delicious pasta snack.

  • Use pre-cooked bacon: This will cut down on prep time.
  • Kid-friendly version: Let kids customize their pizza pasta skewers.
  • Easy cleanup: Use parchment paper to prevent sticking.
  • Avoid overcooking the lasagna sheets, they can become too soft and may fall apart when threaded onto skewers.
  • After draining, drizzle the cooked lasagna sheets with olive oil to prevent them from sticking together. Lay the cooked lasagna sheets in a single layer on a plate.
  • Prefer a crispy and golden finish? Bake for the last 5 minutes at 375℉ (190℃).
  • Why just a thin layer for marinara sauce? This prevents the sauce from overflowing when baking the skewers, as the lasagna acts more like a flat layer, unlike the pizza crust which has a raised edge. If you love tangy flavours, dip your cooked pizza skewers into the marinara sauce!
