Air Fryer Pizza

The best part about pizza in the air fryer is how fast it is to have a simple pizza with a crispy crust.

Ingredients for Air Fryer Pizza

Pizza Topping Ideas

We kept the topping ideas simple as a pepperoni pizza but feel free to add your favorite toppings to the mix.

There are a ton of options when it comes to pizza toppings, here are a few ideas:

  • cooked chicken
  • ham
  • cooked hot Italian sausage
  • salami
  • jalapenos or banana peppers
  • pineapple
  • bell peppers
  • tomatoes
  • mushrooms
  • olives
  • ground beef with taco seasoning (taco pizza)
  • fresh basil
  • artichokes
  • spinach
  • goat cheese
  • pesto
  • arugula (this is good to add after it comes out of the oven)

If you want to give your pizza recipe that extra oomph, try drizzling hot honey over top! I recently discovered this and it’s delicious (plus it goes with most pizza recipes).

Gluten Free Options

If you want a gluten free option, swap the store bought dough for a gluten free option. Check on it at the 8 minute mark and every two minutes after that until it’s done.

Kitchen Tools Needed

These kitchen tools will make this air fryer pepperoni pizza recipe easier.

  1. Air Fryer (obviously)
  2. Basting brush (for spreading the olive oil)
  3. Pizza cutter
  4. Disposable air fryer liners
  5. Air-tight containers (for leftovers)

How to Make Homemade Pizza in the AirFryer

To prevent the pizza dough from sticking, place parchment paper in the basket and lay the dough over top.

Spread the pizza sauce over and then sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over top.

Tip: put a little sauce at the bottom of the pepperoni slices before you add it to the cheese. This prevents it from shifting as you move the pizza.

Frequently Asked Questions

You can use homemade pizza dough if preferred. Just make sure to roll it out to fit the size of your air fryer basket.

Absolutely! Feel free to use any cheese you like or a combination of cheeses for your pizza. I love topping with a little goat cheese!

I like to use simple parchment paper! You can also use an air fryer liner.

Place the slices in the air fryer basket and cook at 350°F (175°C) for a few minutes until heated through.

Important Tip

Please note that every air fryer cooks differently. I have two and one cooks way hotter and quicker than the other. Keep your eye on the pizza to determine the cook time that works best for you.

  • 6 slices pepperoni

Instructions

  • Carefully transfer the rolled-out pizza dough to the air fryer basket.
  • Brush the dough lightly with a teaspoon of olive oil. Cook in the air fryer for 3 minutes.

  • Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, covering the entire surface of the pizza.
  • Arrange the pepperoni slices on top of the cheese, evenly distributing them across the pizza.
  • Place the pizza back in the air fryer basket and cook at 375°F (190°C) for 6-8 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Check the pizza halfway through the cooking time.
  • Once the pizza is cooked to your liking, carefully remove it from the air fryer using tongs or a spatula.
  • Allow the pizza to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
